In the European Union alone, over 650.000 Europeans die every year because they smoke. This figure accounts for one in seven of all deaths across the continent. In total, over 13 million people are suffering from a serious chronic disease as a result of their smoking. The Smoke Free Partnership launched the “Tobacco Free Europe” campaign to ensure that the valuable progress in tobacco control made over the past decade continues and develops well in to the future.
